I don’t gamble, it’s just not worth is and it’s a waste of time… with one exception, Super Bowl Squares. Today while purchasing a couple squares I thought about how you have to be in the game to have any chance at all at winning.
My attention turned to our State Lottery. I don’t play the Lotto but what if I could just give $52 and have someone else purchase on my behalf one ticket per week for the entire year? I think I’d play then. You have to be in it to win it. The numbers or scan of the actual ticket would have to be published in advance and available on a website for me to monitor before I’d be comfortable. The legal work would be intense, this government gaming industry is highly regulated but could it be done? If so, could I build this service? Could I place proxies in each state to purchase tickets to folks all over America could play any lottery in any state?
Just think of the analytical services you could provide. Who has the best odds this week based on pot size and number of players? Whose drawing occurs at what times? You could technically play just about any game in any state at all times and have hundreds or even thousands of drawings per day when you include 3 and 4 digit drawings.
I have no idea how the service fees, logistics and physical security of this service would work but if someone could figure this out I’d bet you could make a mint. Hell, you could probably provide it for free with a 1% of winning clause. If you run the numbers you would stand to make a lot of money once you passed the tipping point probably somewhere around $1million in sales per week.
I searched briefly to see if this service exists and all I found were a bunch of patents on lottery vending machines so if it does exist somewhere it is not marketed well at all.
