- Scan your own site for keywords, you’ve probably already written a ton of them
- Visit SEOTools.com and play with their tools like Keyword Density, Traffic Checker and others
- Use the Google Keyword Tool and the new Google Search-based Keyword Tool
- Once you have a small set, take the common ones and look for synonyms at Thesaurus.com
- Checkout Spyfu.com for what keywords competitor websites are bidding on
- Visit competitor sites and search around through their source and on page text for keywords
- Watch your organic keyword traffic for additional clues about what it bringing people to your site
- Ask some friends and family what they would search for to get an outsider point of view
- Read product descriptions or fine print for any good or services you are selling
- Play with Google Sets, I’m really not sure what else this is good for anyway
